This is 4.5 stars.Um... wow? Loved this one. Sydney gets to be the alchemist in charge of the Palm Springs area after Keith's insane screw up. And that naturally makes her the busiest person on earth. So of course, Richelle Mead would have her start dating, too. And ohmygawd her "boyfriend" is the most ridiculous geek in the history of geeks. All the while Adrian is starting to make the dumbest excuses of needing her help in anything and everything to spend time with her. And in between all the crap from being in charge, taking care of Jill and the other minions, and dealing with Adrian, the vampire hunters are making themselves known.Her history teacher is luring Sydney to use magic and spells, and despite her objections, she actually does use them in her advantage when it's a matter of life and death. Adrian is absolutely making this book. He is funny, adorable, swoony, swoony, cute, swoony, tortured and broody, swoony. And he all but confesses his love to Sydney only to be virtually slapped in the face for it.Oh kids.
